FERNANDO JOSE MACHAIEIE.
Fernando has been dancing for 20 years. He started as a soloist in street dances at the age of 8 and formed a group called Xabindza at 12. After a brief hiatus, he joined the Maquinista Group in 2014, specializing in traditional, modern, and classical dances.
Fernando has participated in numerous workshops and events, including choreographies by Jorge Cuna, Prof Aly, and Zacarias, and the piece “Vagabundus” by Idio Chichava, which led to performances in Bulgaria. He also traveled with Maquinista to South Africa for the Kwela Festival and attended a workshop by a Portuguese choreographer in Camões.
In 2023, Fernando and his friend Martins Tuvanji created an event presented at KINANI and 16 NETO. In May 2024, he traveled with Mozambican dancers to Belgium, Brussels, Paris, Metz, Marseille, and Luxembourg for various festivals. Currently, he is part of the Jafeca Milhoro group and teaches AFRODANCE and traditional dance at the Ana Arte & Movimento Dance Academy.
