Efece Noko Cultural Troupe is a Traditional Music and Dance Group formed in 1981.
It was originally formed by Asafoatse Nii Laryea Akuaku II of Adzen We Clan in Nungua, formally known as RO Laryea the father of Richmond Cru Laryea who is the current leader, composer, music arranger and master drummer of the group.
The group performed at the Grand Finale of TV Africa’s Naa Ga – Dangme Beauty Pageant in 2021, the Republic Spirit Music Festival and also made a derby during the Keje Fair 2021
It was a well-loved folk band that plays gigs across the country, won competitions and represented Ghana once at a Traditional Music Festival in Libya.
The group is blessed with rich experience in the Traditional Music and Dance and can choose and perform the appropriate repertoire to entertain our audience.
After a series of performances at the Aklowa African Village in London, the group disbanded after several of its members got offers to Australia, Germany and other European destinations about 30 years ago.
As Richmond’s father became a Chief of Nungua, he took up the management of the band from the father since he has been with the band at the age of five (5) who was by then playing as a professional already.
