Bonifacio Aurio, better known as Mr. Tuffas, was born on the 17th of July 19Xx in Huambo, a province located in the south of Angola.
Very connected to the arts, Bonifacio has been in love with music and dance from an early age, but it is in the latter that he has made himself known over the years and over the last few months he has taken advantage of the opportunities it has opened up to show off his music, something which, by the way, he does as well as he has done for many years. Let’s hear it for his first single “No ponto” which features Cabeção and already has a video clip.
For many years he was a street dancer and dancer in small events, all in an amateur way until the moment he decided to bet on his professionalization with dance courses that made him a better dancer each time, since inside there was already a rough diamond. All that was needed was to be polished.
In 2011 he decided to participate in the National Kizomba Competition organised by Mukanus Produções in Luanda, Angola. Despite being one of the most noticed by the juries and the public, Mr. Tuffas was classified in fourth place. His determination and the persistence of family and friends made Bonifácio sign up again for the following year’s edition. Not in his first, but in his second participation he convinced the jury, won the competition and automatically qualified for the África Dançar competition in Lisbon, a competition equivalent to a world kizomba dance competition, which he also won.
From 2012 to now, the life of the eternal kizomba world champion, as he is affectionately known, has taken a great leap forward. He settled in Lisbon, where he currently has a busy schedule that combines dancing and music with a degree in International Relations and Political Science.
Today, Bonifácio is one of the main ambassadors in the world of kizomba and semba as Angolan dances. The young man does not stop. Invitations to teach courses or run workshops appear at lightning speed and in places he didn’t even think he could get to with only dance as a vehicle.
United States of America, Canada, Brazil, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, France, Holland, Singapore, Australia, India,Finland, Italy, Spain, Portugal… the list of countries where this young man has taken the rhythms of Angola is immense. And there is still a lot of good things to come. After the good reception of his first song, Bonifácio already has his most recent single “É Fixe” Raízes, Oi Moça, Cantadas, ready.
